Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Committee

Introduction

As described in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), a three-member committee exists to review possible actions recommended by ARIN in regards to enforcement of the AUP. The AUP describes the selection process for the three members of the committee, and each is appointed to serve a one-year term starting February and may be reappointed.

Generally, the President requests the AUP committee to review a proposed enforcement action, and they provide community oversight to ensure actions are sound and consistent with the described procedures. In some cases, a review by the committee may not be requested under special circumstances, and in such cases, the committee is notified of the action. An alleged offender may submit additional information or seek reconsideration of a decision, and in these circumstances the committee will be asked to review such materials and report its findings to the President.
