On March 31, 2011, ARIN submitted a response to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Request for Comments on the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Functions.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) currently performs the IANA functions, on behalf of the United States Government, through a contract with NTIA. Because the current contract expires on 30 September 2011, the NTIA opened a request for public comment on ways to enhance the performance of the IANA functions in the development and award of a new IANA functions contract.

The ARIN response is available at: https://www.arin.net/participate/community/arin_response_ntia.pdf

Communications and Member Services
American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN)
