Over the past year, ARIN has made improvements to its Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol support, including removal of TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 and Diffie-Helman key exchange parameters to improve security. As ARIN looks forward to eventual support of TLS version 1.3, we are adding support for three mandatory TLS 1.3 cipher suites (as defined in IETF RFC 8446, section 9.1):
- TLS_AES_128_GCM_SHA256
- TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384
- TLS_CHACHA20_POLY1305_SHA256 (RFC 8439)
Enabling TLS version 1.3 and cipher suites does not require any specific action from users of ARIN’s Whois-RWS, Reg-RWS, RDAP, and www.arin.net, and will provide stronger security for communications with ARIN’s network. This change is scheduled for 14 December 2021. ARIN will provide notification after the system has been updated.

American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN)
