Jeffrey Anderson
Author: Duran Johnson
Submitted: Tuesday 29 October 2019 21:24 EDT I met Jeff shortly after I started DRAGNFLY Wireless 16 years ago. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable and truly helpful not only understanding and explaining the issue, but providing appropriate guidance and support all the way thru to resolution. He will absolutely be valuable to the organization and the future of the Internet.

Submitted: Tuesday 22 October 2019 14:59 EDT As President/CEO of LifeLine Incorporated, Jeff Anderson has been my go-to technology expert for the last 12 years. I have found that Jeff’s overall knowledge and the ability to get all issues resolved timely indispensable. I’ve learned these last years of Jeff’s interest in the internet and issues of security and proper structure to be a real passion. Jeff quickly envelopes a project and garners trust and confidence with those he works with, by his easy style and diplomacy in difficult issues. I’ve also found an inordinate desire on Jeff’s part to dig-in to the details and work to come up with the right answers rather than just an answer.

Submitted: Monday 21 October 2019 10:18 EDT We have worked with Mr. Anderson at Implex for several years at several rooftop antenna sites. He prides himself in his ability to keep wireless systems working and clean. It’s rare I work with someone equally passionate about keeping accurate records and willing to get their hands dirty to keep the systems working. He would be of great value to the Board.

Submitted: Friday 18 October 2019 12:57 EDT Jeff is very knowledgeable and passionate about the current and future state of the internet. His ideas and concerns, in addition to his knowledge of the history of ARIN make him an excellent candidate for this role on the advisory council. Jeff is also articulate, helping vendors, and operators understand the current state of affairs and the needs in regard to governance as the internet evolves.
Author: John Gorski
Submitted: Wednesday 16 October 2019 16:32 EDT Jeff has supported our Qwikcast “virtual meeting” product for many years. Not only does our Qwikcast software perform without interruption, Jeff has assisted our clients when their network issues compromise the success of our meetings. This is a large task as our meetings are viewed around the Globe, ushered through corporate networks, monitored for security and success for companies including 3M, Ecolab, Medtronic, Ameriprise, Target, US Bank, Post Consumer Brands and others. These companies demand excellence and Jeff is instrumental in helping us maintain these corporate relationships since 1996.
Author: Collin McBrady
Submitted: Tuesday 15 October 2019 17:39 EDT Jeff is a very knowledgeable, conscientious professional and an excellent advocate for the greater community, in particular representing the perspectives of smaller networks and operators. Having known Jeff for many of his years as a Network Engineer, his contribution would no doubt be of great value to the Board.

Submitted: Monday 04 November 2019 11:32 EST I am pleased to provide Alyssa Moore a Statement of Support in her re-election campaign to the ARIN Advisory Council. Alyssa continues to be a dedicated and passionate advocate for fair, responsible and equitable internet. Over the course of her first three year term, Alyssa has shepherded internet numbers policies that aim to improve registry accuracy, a policy that aims to make it easier for community networks to obtain IPv6, and policies that increase clarity in the Number Resource Policy Manual. During her tenure at both Cybera and now CIRA, she has been a key figure in advocating for better Internet policy at the global and national levels. She understands the critical importance of maintaining an unbiased and objective voice while upholding the core principles of the organization she is supporting. This skill set makes her very valuable as a contributor and partner. As a former colleague of Alyssa’s, I can strongly state that she is extremely professional in her work ethic and is both a mentor and a strong team player. She takes her roles and responsibilities seriously, and possesses the necessary skills to be a contributing member of the ARIN Advisory Council. Alyssa is great at thinking outside the box and bringing new ideas to the table in an effort to evolve current operating practices for the better. I strongly support her re-election. Submitted: Thursday 31 October 2019 13:07 EDT I am a scholar at Yale Law School working on Internet governance related issues that relate to both technical aspects as well as legal and social aspects of Internet governance. I have come to know Alyssa Moore in her role as the senior policy advocacy adviser at CIRA and have cooperated with her on arranging panels at IGF initiatives and computer science conferences, interacted with her at ICANN,and sought her opinion about various technical and policy issues that relate to Internet infrastructure and names and numbers. Alyssa brings a very unique blend of policy/technical knowledge to this space which I have rarely seen. While has an in-depth knowledge about policy, because of her understanding of technical issues she is also very realistic but at the same time rights-oriented. This balance is very much apparent from how she performs in her various roles. She also does not shy away from advocating for what her community demands and is a committed representative. I strongly support Alyssa’s re-election to AC.

Submitted: Monday 28 October 2019 10:29 EDT Submitted by: Steven Barry Vice-president, Information Technology Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) I have known Alyssa Moore for about four years, first having met at an ISP Summit. A little over a year ago she came to work at CIRA with my colleagues and me. To say that she has had a positive impact on the organization is a bit of an understatement. Alyssa is a hardworking, diligent and keen-minded person with an impressive breadth of knowledge in internet policy and technology. While her background and day-to-day work is policy-based, she is a very quick study and has impressed me with her quick and insightful uptake of technology and it’s impact on the greater internet environment. It is for these qualities and reasons that I am please to provide a Statement of Support for her continued role on the ARIN Advisory Council.

Submitted: Thursday 31 October 2019 13:22 EDT Tina Morris continues to be one of the hardest working volunteers (if not the hardest working volunteer) in the ARIN Community. Through her roles on the AC, where she has served as a member, vice-chair, and now chair, as well as her service on many other committees (for example the NomCom and the Fellowship Selection committee), Tina has spent countless hours serving ARIN, it’s members, and the community. Anita Nikolich
Author: Vijay Gurbani
Submitted: Friday 27 September 2019 11:19 EDT Re: Statement of support Anita Nikolich’s candidacy for the ARIN Advisory Council. While I knew *of* Anita when she was a NSF PM, I am very pleased to say that I know her now as a close colleague. In the last couple of years that our paths have crossed, I have been the beneficiary of many insights related to our shared research interests, namely networking, protocols, security, and applied machine learning. My conversations with Anita have always been illuminating, be it a conversation on the latest advances in network security, or a conversation on the role of ethics in the booming AI/ML space in the CS community, or a conversation on the business aspects of a technology like blockchain. During our various conversations, I have always found Anita’s arguments to be well thought out, eminently reasonable, very passionate, and acutely perspicacious. Anita’s background and prior experience will inform her activities in ARIN. Her deep knowledge of networking will allow her to reason about evolving technologies that will make use of networks in ways not yet imagined, and her organization experience will benefit ARIN in establishing collaborations with other organizations like ISOC. In summary, I unreservedly support Anita Nikolich’s candidacy for the ARIN Advisory Council. Sincerely, Vijay K. Gurbani, Ph.D. http://www.cs.iit.edu/~vgurbani Department of Computer Science, Illinois Institute of Technology.

Submitted: Thursday 26 September 2019 12:27 EDT Alison is a talented network engineer with the unique ability to look beyond the technical aspects of her job, to the bigger picture of how her work impacts the work of the state, and the citizens of Oregon. Alison’s passion, dedication, determination and enthusiasm are admirable and contagious and she will apply a balance of fun and professionalism to any policy, committee or workgroup in which she is involved. I believe that Alison’s public sector background brings a unique viewpoint on the impact of policy to state and local government, and I whole-heartedly endorse her for the ARIN Advisory Council.
Author: John Springer
Submitted: Thursday 26 September 2019 12:44 EDT I had the pleasure of serving on the AC for two years with Alison. During that time, I was impressed with her exceptional professionalism. She provided a useful perspective on policy from the technical side of state government. Her record of continual personal and technical achievement has made her an effective interface between ARIN’s stakeholders and the PDP. In addition, her positive outlook has served to enliven a policy process which can be intimidating. By placing your vote to return Alison to the Advisory Council, these desirable effects would be continued. I recommend that.
Author: Mike Burns
Submitted: Thursday 26 September 2019 14:38 EDT Alison has been assigned to shepherd a couple of my policy proposals, and I have been surprised by her diligence. She researched my proposal and its history, and identified technical issues that had recently changed which impacted the proposal. She spent more research time than I did, and she was able to present the proposal successfully to the community when the time came for that. Throughout the process she was fair to me and I had no reason to assume that she was personally for or against my proposal, which I took to be a reasonable position for a policy shepherd. I think she is a credit to the Advisory Council and I support her re-election.
Author: Paul Deike
Submitted: Monday 23 September 2019 15:21 EDT Alison has a critical role with the Network team at the State of Oregon Data Center. He ability to track down the root cause of Network related issues is critical to reducing outages to a minimum. She has a drive and a passion to share her research and knowledge beyond the walls of her cubicle, having a position with ARIN allows her skills to be appreciated by a greater audience. I recommend her nomination enthusiastically!

She is also fun to work with :-) I am very comfortable endorsing her for this position. She would be an excellent choice and would definitely be an asset to ARIN!

Bram Abramson
Author: Allan MacGillivray
Submitted: Tuesday 05 November 2019 13:42 EST I first met Bram for over 20 years when I was in government and he was a telecommunications lawyer representing major international clients. He is a very genial individual who is able to explain complex issues, both technical and legal, in a clear and understandable fashion. Submitted: Wednesday 25 September 2019 16:15 EDT I have known Bram since 2015, when I found him to be an eager collaborator on a project I was taking forward to develop human rights principles for the tech sector. His participation was extremely valuable to our work, both in terms of offering direct feedback and in terms of connecting us to other potential participants in the private sector. As someone who was coming from civil society, this kind of committed engagement to advancing digital rights is incredibly valuable among private sector partners, and I was, and remain, grateful for his contributions to that project. I have confidence his commitment to human rights and his technical understanding of the field will be a tremendous asset to the ARIN board. He can make a powerful point without raising the least fuss and shed insight into a subject without showing off. He can work well with others. He has a large measure of tact, discretion and ability to reason with others effectively. I think he is perfect Board material. I predict that ARIN members will be pleased with the results if they select him for the Board.

Submitted: Friday 25 October 2019 17:31 EDT Patrick has a wealth of experience and contacts within the networking community. He has extensive experience in various roles not only operationally, but as a leader in communities such as NANOG, ARIN, and the PeeringDB to name a few. He continues to be a prolific and valuable contributor at numerous events and for numerous important organizations no matter what host organization he happens to be associated with. Patrick has a number of noteworthy qualities, but perhaps none exemplifies his suitability for support more than his untiring support of others, and not just those that agree with him, but those that engage him in honest disagreement on topics of great, but unsolved interest. He is blunt, but kind. He is sharp, but humble. He has lots of friends, and few if any enemies. His is the sort of character that is a perfect fit for the ARIN board. Patrick will continue to be a valuable asset to the community and is a great fit to continue to serve the community as an ARIN board member. He has my support.

Submitted: Tuesday 22 October 2019 11:50 EDT I have worked with Patrick indirectly by interacting with organizations that he is a board member on. This includes ARIN, PeeringDB, and ARIN. I believe that his influence in each of these organizations has resulted in an improvement, and I believe that his continued service to the ARIN board will further improve ARIN’s services. Patrick has shown a great ability to keep his employment at Addrex and his service to ARIN separate. though I also believe that his experience in the IP marketplace aids ARIN in the long run; allowing ARIN to understand how their policies affect current resource holders.

Submitted: Wednesday 30 October 2019 09:09 EDT Catherine was on the CANARIE Board for 8 years, which included 6 years on the Board Executive Committee in the roles of Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair of the CANARIE Board of Directors. Over those 8 years, Catherine was always (yes.. always!) prepared for the Board meetings, she anticipated items requiring discussion, and was very open to, and respectful of, the views of other Board Members and staff. Catherine and I also had regular one on one conversations where we discussed items such as community engagement and organizational evolution. Always willing to assist CANARIE, she volunteered to participate on our Research Advisory Committee in support of CANARIE program delivery. Without hesitation, I would absolutely endorse Dr. Middleton’s appointment to the ARIN Board of Directors.
