Jeffry Handal

Author: Azael Fernandez

Submitted: Wednesday 03 November 2021 19:14 EDT Since I know Jeffry in e-mail lists, and later on a meeting where we talked, I realized the kind of networking professional Jeffry is, a compromised person with the development of Internet, in particular with IPv6. So I consider he is the one can provide valuable knowledge and good points of views in ARIN AC.

Author: Chase Nebeker

Submitted: Tuesday 02 November 2021 17:49 EDT Other people have commented on Jeffry’s technical knowledge and prowess with IPv6 and networking. All of which I wholeheartedly agree. In the years that I’ve worked with Jeffry, I’ve come to know him as a dedicated humanitarian who is using his abilities to help others gain knowledge. Jeffry can be found helping provide connectivity to underserved areas of the world, stepping in to help after natural disasters, working with local schools to help teach marketable skills, donating his time to work students explore areas outside of technology. Through all of his hard work in his field, Jeffry continues to be one of the most sincere individuals that I’ve had the chance to call a coworker, colleague, and friend. I firmly believe that the ARIN advisory council would be lucky to have someone that is so dedicated to his field and to the world. As we go continue into the 21st century we need people like Jeffry Handal that knows the technology and then is able to help the world adopt it.

Submitted: Thursday 28 October 2021 15:30 EDT In the many years that I have known Jeffry, he has demonstrated unwavering support for IPv6 and continuously encouraged investment in related development. Furthermore, he has always been a genuine pleasure to collaborate with, both in terms of solid work and open demeanor. This combination of domain expertise and work ethic would be a tremendous benefit to ARIN and fellow Advisors.

Submitted: Tuesday 26 October 2021 02:27 EDT Jeffry is a exceptional technical resource with an infectious passion for IPv6. He is a thought leader within the senior technical community, and is well respected by customers. The inclusion of Jeffry on the council would be a strong asset for ARIN.

Submitted: Friday 22 October 2021 21:22 EDT Jeffrey Handal has been been a tireless advocate for the deployment of IPv6 for the more than 10 years I’ve known him. I believe he will bring a useful perspective to the AC from his operational experience with campus networking at LSU and his experience supporting a diverse set of customers in his current position at Cisco Meraki. I support his candidacy for the ARIN AC and request your vote for him.

Submitted: Friday 22 October 2021 13:38 EDT Jeffry embodies the value of being a champion for solving customers challenges and using technologies in the most effective way for the customer’s benefits. I am always in awe with his passion for IPv6 and technology in general , and how he collaborates across different stakeholders to drive the right outcomes for customers and the industry at a large. With his technical debt and collaborative style, he will be a strong resource on the council.

Author: Paul Curnock

Submitted: Friday 22 October 2021 11:09 EDT Jeffry demonstrates in everything he does an attitude, tenacity and energy that sets him apart from other technical professionals. Jeffry’s technical prowess and passion for technology, particularly IPv6, is second to none. His tremendous work ethic and eagerness to learn and teach others ensures he’s always at the top of his game. I would recommend Jeffry for any position as part of a team in this industry and truly believe he will be an asset to the ARIN advisory council.

Author: Steve Harrison

Submitted: Thursday 21 October 2021 09:27 EDT I have had the privilege of working closely with Jeff for the past 6.5 years at Meraki and through that time I can say that he is by far the most proactive, conciliator, and accommodating networking professional I have worked with within my 20 years in the industry. His ability to find common ground and then align people towards a positive outcome would make him an asset to any organization. However, when factoring in his passion for breaking down barriers (e.g. his outreach and education work in Central America) and integrity for ensuring equality in an increasingly segregated internet, I would argue he is essential to the future success of ARIN.

Submitted: Thursday 21 October 2021 07:10 EDT When it comes to IPv6 and Security, no one has Jeff’s passion! He has been driving awareness for many years and leading with great enthusiasm. Jeff is a great problem solver and is a “we can do it” kind of Engineer. He has been a great influencer with SASE and IPv6 things for many years and I think he will be a great resource to the advisory council.

Submitted: Thursday 21 October 2021 05:26 EDT Jeffry is a leading technology expert and a senior architect in our company. He drives key growth and development initiatives and acts as an advisor to the engineering teams in developing roadmap. If nobody knows the answer to something, you go to Jeffry. He has been a speaker and presenter in many major events. I’m always impressed with his knowledge, passion of technology (IPv6 and SASE being key ones), humility and generosity in sharing knowledge. He would be not only a strong addition to bring market and technology knowledge but would be a pleasure to collaborate and work with.

Submitted: Wednesday 20 October 2021 11:22 EDT Jeffry over the many years I have known him has proved time and time again a consistent passion for networking technologies. I correlation between IPv6 and Jeffry are simply synonymous. From technical recommendations to proven leadership and a growth mindset, Jeffry is evidently a valuable resource for any council. It would simply be a loss for ARIN to miss out on this opportunity.

Submitted: Wednesday 20 October 2021 07:17 EDT It’s a pleasure to recommend and endorse Jeffry’s nomination to ARIN Advisory Council
In my personal interactions with Jeffry, he’s come across as very professional, proactive and willing to go above & beyond for the greater good of the company and industry. For example, Jeffry took it on himself to review the initial six SASE use cases and help simplify them down to just the two. Leading IPV6 and a few more initiatives proves his leadership and contribution.

He’s passionate about technology and standards (you will see a recurring IPv6 theme here), as well as being a natural mentor and supporter of others - I have seen this countless times within our internal technical communities, with Jeffry helping to champion product updates to the field teams, or champion customer and field related feedback into core Product teams, or to educate others in order to better their own standings etc. He cares deeply about the “greater good” of what he is involved in which has always made him great to work with, my teams love working with and supporting Jeffry’s efforts. I have personally not seen any individual more deeply dedicated to the progress of IPv6 adoption both from an industry perspective as well as a product development perspective. Of ALL the people I have worked with over the past 10 years at Cisco, Jeffery is wholly unique from this perspective. This is only covering his drive and interest. His personable nature and his technical acumen are additional qualities that make him and excellent candidate to understand the impact and barriers of adoption to customers and vendors alike.

Submitted: Tuesday 19 October 2021 18:26 EDT I first got to know Jeff when it came to IPv6. In every discussion that came up regarding IPv6 or Jeff the two always went hand in hand. He is known as the IPv6 go-to guy and has always been a strong, passionate leader in this space evangelizing it at every opportunity and driving Meraki forward with its IPv6 investments. Any time I need feedback from SE’s or insights in to what customers are looking for, Jeff is always my immediate go to person. Outside of the day to day, Jeff is passionate about making a difference in the world and leveraging technology to do so. I have seen him use his knowledge and passion for technology to support NGO’s worldwide and help them modernize their network and adopt new cloud managed technology to save people from having to go on-site in war-torn/high risk areas around the world. I have no doubt that Jeff would do an amazing job in anything he sets his mind to and would make an outstanding member of the ARIN advisory council

I also work as the Policy Program Manager at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (managers of the .CA TLD.) We have engaged Bram on multiple occasions for legal, regulatory, and legislative files. Submitted: Sunday 17 October 2021 15:19 EDT I work as a policy manager at the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) and I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bram on two regulatory advocacy projects. The first was where Bram represented CEA in our successful ask of the CRTC to create a new designation of Mobile Network Code holder available for critical infrastructure. The second was where he was contracted to design innovative legislative & regulatory solutions to longstanding electricity industry concerns regarding the evolution of electricity metering.

I believe Bram’s candidacy should be supported for two reasons. First, because he is a deep thinker who, after considering many different inputs both from stakeholders and historical precedents, will put forward elegant solutions. As he has any time I’ve worked with him. And, secondly he is excellent at finding consensus positions amongst a large group of stakeholders. It is this second quality, in concert with his expansive internet/telecom industry experience, that will allow Bram to serve ARIN well and add great value to the organization as a member of the board of trustees.

Submitted: Thursday 28 October 2021 19:55 EDT It has been an absolute pleasure to have had the opportunity to work and collaborate with Ron over many years now, primarily via the fora offered with his committed service to ICANN. He is a consummate professional, well-founded not only in his technical skills but also in his superior communications abilities. He is an ever present and effective contributor and resource to the projects and activities he is involved with, giving far more than the required ‘share of his time’ to ensure that a good grasp of not just the facts and figures but the diversity of views being held are well articulated and understood by all involved. His most recent and demanding service on the ICANN Board is exemplary and he is a trusted Director showing exemplary Corporate Governance abilities and attention to detail. Yet he still consistently finds the time to commit to more general engagement and always most welcome interactions with the wider ICANN Community… Somewhat a 1 person Outreach and Engagement program… Others have outlined his exceptional and highly valued skills and experience in their statements of support, and I endorse all of those wholeheartedly; I, however, want to remind you all of the importance of his ‘soft skills’ which are not only highly developed they are also agile and well-tuned to each of the circumstances I have seen him operate in… In short in my very biased view, Ron is a *Top Class Candidate* for the ARIN Board, and to not appoint him would be a great loss of a rare opportunity.
