Consultation Description

ARIN is interested in receiving community feedback on when and if it should retire email templates as duplicate functionality is made available through ARIN Online. As we build new features into the website, we would like to eliminate redundant and legacy services. We are seeking community input to determine if there is community support for this approach.

Discussion on consult@arin.net will close at noon EDT 30 Oct 2009. ARIN will use the feedback provided to determine if we need to continue to provide redundant legacy services alongside ARIN Online.

ARIN appreciates the extensive community response to this suggestion, and as a result ARIN will plan continued support for email templates to make registry changes. ARIN will also continue to explore new and improved technologies that could provide alternatives to the email-based SWIP processing, and periodically will consult with the community for guidance as these alternatives gain popular support.
