ACSP Suggestion 2011.37: Email response capability for third party requests for WhoWas data
Suggestion
Author: Heather Schiller
Submitted On: 14 October 2011
Description: Please go through whatever process is necessary to be able to respond via email to third party requests for WhoWas data. Please make this a high priority as it could serve as an interim solution until engineering resources can be made available. It would also serve as a mechanism for gathering information about how often and for what reasons this data would be used, which will give you information which can be used when you go to automate the process.

ARIN’s preliminary plan is to provide this functionality by the end of the 1st quarter 2012 subject to operating plan and budget approval. ARIN is committed to getting this done, barring any projects and/or policies which are deemed both important and urgent enough to pre-empt delivery of this functionality.
On a related note, we are planning improve the communications surrounding ARIN’s project efforts in order to better manage expectations with the community. Look for an announcement from ARIN about this issue in the coming weeks.
We will keep 2011.37 open until we have delivered the functionality to production.

We probably could have closed Suggestion 2011-37, in which you asked for the ability to respond via email to third party requests for WhoWas data, back when we opened the WhoWas trial last year. Now that this service is in production through ARIN Online we are closing Suggestion 2011-37.
Thank for your participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process.
