ACSP Suggestion 2017.1: Two-factor functionality improvement
Suggestion
Author: Dani Roisman
Submitted On: 20 January 2017
Description:
Add “remember this computer for 30 days” functionality to 2-factor authentication. Specifically, allow me to request/accept a browser cookie which will allow me to log back into ARIN online on a 2-factor authenticated account with only username/password. This cookie will become ineffective after 30 days of clicking the checkbox.
In this case, there is still 2-factor:
- Something I know = username/password
- Something I have = browser cookie
Value to Community: This will streamline the process for frequent ARIN Online users to log back into the portal on subsequent visits, and further encourage the adoption of 2-factor (by not being as burdensome).
