Overview
ARIN recovers the cost of its registry operations through annual fees charged to registry customers. All new ARIN customers must sign a Registration Services Agreement (RSA) to receive registry services.
In accordance with the RSA, all fees paid to ARIN are non-refundable. Fees may not be prorated, are nontransferable, and must be paid in full. All fees are payable in USD (United States Dollar) only.
Registration Services Plan
Customers with IPv4 and/or IPv6 number resources pay annually for an appropriately sized Registration Services Plan (RSP) that provides registry services for all their number resources (IPv4, IPv6, and ASNs) in the ARIN registry. Customers with only ASNs are not eligible to participate in a RSP and instead pay an annual fee for each ASN as specified below.
Organizations must pay the annual fee for their RSP plan as determined by the service category table below at the time the initial request for number resources is approved. This payment is considered an initial fee when an organization is receiving number resources for the first time from ARIN and will establish the anniversary date for future annual RSP payments. Future annual payments will be based on the appropriately sized RSP category as determined by the aggregate holdings of IPv4 and IPv6 number resources held on the anniversary date.
As of 1 January 2022, all previous end-user and LRSA organizations have been transitioned to Registration Services Plans of the appropriate-size RSP category as determined by their aggregate IPv4 and IPv6 resources held.
RSP Service Categories and Fees
The table below displays the annual Registration Services Plan fee per service category for ARIN customers. The aggregate block size consists of the total IPv4 or IPv6 resource holdings of an organization.
Service Category | Fee | IPv4 Aggregate Block Size | IPv6 Aggregate Block Size |
---|---|---|---|
3X-Small* | $250 | /24 or smaller | /40 or smaller |
2X-Small | $500 | Larger than /24, up to and including /22 | Larger than /40, up to and including /36 |
X-Small | $1,000 | Larger than /22, up to and including /20 | Larger than /36, up to and including /32 |
Small | $2,000 | Larger than /20, up to and including /18 | Larger than /32, up to and including /28 |

X-Large | $16,000 | Larger than /14, up to and including /12 | Larger than /20, up to and including /16 |
2X-Large | $32,000 | Larger than /12, up to and including /10 | Larger than /16, up to and including /12 |
3X-Large | $64,000 | Larger than /10, up to and including /8 | Larger than /12, up to and including /8 |

5X-Large | $256,000 | Larger than /6 | Larger than /4 |
*There is a temporary IPv6 fee waiver for organizations in the 3X-Small service category allowing for more IPv6 resources than normal while still remaining in the 3X-Small service category and paying only the 3X-Small service category fee. A 3X-Small organization may receive registry services for up to a /36 of total IPv6 space and remain in the 3X-Small service category rather than being charged the 2X-Small service category fee. This waiver will expire 31 December 2026.
Legacy Registration Services Agreement (LRSA)
Organizations with resources held under a LRSA receive the same Registration Services Plan for their legacy resources only with the difference being ARIN provides a fee cap on total annual fees for LRSA customers. The total annual fees applicable to legacy resource holder organizations are limited to $175 annually for 2023, regardless of the number of resources held under a LRSA. ARIN will increase this annual cap of registry fees for LRSA customers by $25 per year.
Transactional Fees
Transactional fees are for those services that are not covered under a Registration Services Plan. These fees are non-refundable.
Transaction Type | Fee |
---|---|
ASN Issuance (per ASN) | $550 |
ASN Annual Fee (per ASN for ASN-only resource holders) | $150 |
Organization Create | $50 |

ASN-only resource holders are responsible for an annual fee of $150 per ASN.
Note: For Organizations with ASNs receiving services under a RSP, the annual fee does not apply.
Organization Create / Organization Recovery Transactions
ARIN will collect a transaction fee for each Organization Create or Organization Recovery. The transaction fee payment is required before evaluation of the request begins.
- Organization create is $50.00 per transaction.
- Organization recovery is $100.00 per transaction.
Resource Transfers
The source and recipient organization must pay any outstanding annual fees before evaluation and any fees that become outstanding during the evaluation must be paid before completing any request.
The source (or legal successor) organization will be invoiced for each transfer request submitted; the Source Transfer Request fee must be paid before evaluation of the transfer request begins.
