Moving Day for TeamARIN

Moving Day for TeamARIN

Welcome to the first post on the new ARIN blog! If you’ve been following us over the past decade, you have likely run across our content on teamarin.net, but now you won’t have to go looking for it anywhere other than on our primary site. For the past 11 years TeamARIN was a standalone website, but we recently packed up and moved all that great content from teamarin.net into arin.net. While this is a change to where we publish content, we will still be bringing you the same great blogs, event news, and ways to get involved in the ARIN community in a more accessible location. One big improvement is that you now have the option to subscribe to our blog for updates when we put out a new post to stay up-to-date with the latest news from ARIN.

Let me show you around our new blog and where you can find many of the other features we migrated over from the old site.

The What & Where

The transition from teamarin.net to arin.net/blog should be a seamless experience for our readers. We have put into place redirect links, so that content from the old site will be easily found in its new home. Our new blog home page lives on arin.net/blog where all blogs will be listed in descending order by date published, similar to what we’ve had in the past. You can locate the new blog by visiting that URL directly or by clicking on the tab we’ve added to our navigation, simply titled “Blog.”

Blog Menu

On the righthand side you will see a sidebar that contains helpful links to places you might want to explore, such as our new events calendar, library of IPv6 case studies, or archive of ARIN Bits posts.

Below that you will find a handy list of all the ways we categorize our blog posts to aid you if you are searching for a specific topic. (Additionally, you can use the site’s search bar.) You will also see two pages that came over from teamarin.net, “Book a Speaker” and “Book ARIN’s Help Desk.”

Events & Such

As a part of this transition to arin.net, we have created a new event calendar, where you can now view both ARIN-hosted, as well as community events that are open to the public, all in one place. By clicking on the “View Upcoming Events” button in the sidebar, or simply visiting arin.net/events, you will discover a new, interactive calendar. This calendar will allow you to sort events by various categories and see what we’re up to next.

Events Calendar

There is some other non-blog content that formerly lived on teamarin.net which is now dispersed throughout arin.net. One important example is the ARIN in the Caribbean information, which can be found under Outreach Events.

Should you require any assistance in finding information on the blog, please reach out to blog@arin.net and we can point you in the right direction. However, we do believe with redirect links in place, the transition should be quite painless.

Some more exciting news…

One feature that has been added to the blog you know (and hopefully) love is an option for you to subscribe for updates. This subscription option will notify you whenever a new blog is published on our site. You always have the option to unsubscribe at any time, and we assure you that your data will remain secure.

You can find our subscription page by clicking the “Sign Me Up” button in the sidebar of any blog page.

The Why

Back in 2009 when we first started teamarin.net, we wanted to create a place that captured the voices of our community and shared our message in a more direct-to-community and conversational format. At the time, our primary website did not have the right space for this kind of a blog. Over the years we decided that it would be best to combine these two separate sites, but we needed to wait until the time was right to begin work on a migration. An inter-departmental team from our engineering and communications departments worked to make this a reality over the past year. We are now happy to host the ARIN blog entirely on our own internal servers, and we believe that moving the blog to arin.net will provide more visibility into the content we regularly share here.

Let us know what you think!

We hope you love our new home for the blog as much as we do. As always, we are eager to hear your feedback. Reach out via the feedback button at the top of the homepage, or email blog@arin.net. Also, we are always seeking guest contributors to the blog, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have a topic in mind.

Happy reading!
